  • Wine Tasting - Being a prime wine growing area there are abundant vineyards offering a varied wine tasting experience.
  • Cycling - The quiet roads of the area provide an idea oportunity to explore the countryside for all the family.
  • Zoo Doue La Fontaine has a world class zoo that has been developed in a very unusual setting of an old stone quarry.
  • Doue La Fontaine offers many sporting facilities including tennis, horse riding and outdoor swimming pool.  It also has many rose gardens and hosts a rose festival every July.
  • Visit the Tourist Office site for local events.
  • Markets - Known as the “Garden of France” there is a plentiful supply of local produce which can be brought at one of the many markets that occur throughout the week in the locality

  • The Cadre Noir and National Horse Riding school, Saumur daily training sessions available for public viewing demonstrating the impressive display of dressage, an equestrian tradition founded in the 16th century.
  • Puy Du Fou, a day and night of activity. Includes a falconry show, Gallo - Roman Stadium, Medieval Battle and city and  ‘Cinescenie’ a light and sound show depicting the Vendee Wars
  • Futuroscope - a futuristic theme park exploring modern and visual technology is 100kms away.
